Apex Emergency Medical Service is dedicated to providing paramedic level service to the Apex North Carolina community twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays. We are staffed with 6 full-time employees, 20 part-time employees and 15 members. We operate two 911 ambulances with our full-time and part-time employees and members. Originally founded in 1971 as Apex Rescue Squad, we no longer perform rescue and extrication duties but are focused on providing pre-hospital emergency care and transportation to the community.
Our membership Paramedics and EMTs work 60-80 hours per month on a schedule to fit their needs. All members must attend monthly business and training meetings to stay abreast of the latest pre-hospital medications and procedures. Each member is a valuable asset who enjoys spending much of their time serving their community.
We would also like to acknowledge the generous support of the Apex Community Auxiliary.
The auxiliary is made up of many spouses, family members and the people from the greater Apex community. They provide vital fundraising as well as emotional support for our members.
